Some valuable tips for your CV & Interview

Interview:
Rule No.1 - Dont be late.
Rule No.2 - Dont be late.
Rule No.3 - Make sure to note the interviewer's phone number & bring it with you with your mobile phone. If something happens to delay you, ring them as soon as possible.

Dress sensibly and serously.

When talking to an interviewer, look straight at them and not down at the floor or at the wall.

Curriculum Vitae: - means 'Story of your Life' in Latin language:

Remember 'Failing to Plan' is 'Planning to Fail' - your CV is the 1st vital part of your plan:

Realise - Your CV is 'extremely' important in your job search..!

Contents of your CV:
Personal Details - Include your Title (Mr Ms), a contactable phone number, and even a work number (type 'with discretion beside it), your Nationality, Date of Birth, Schools & Colleges.

Education - Include a summary of your education - for young people include details (actual results), for older people lesser detail is required.

Work History: - When listing your job history list your current job or position first and follow in that order (chronological order most recent dates first). Give the dates of previous employment 'from' 'to', Job titles and shortlist your key duties and responsibilities.

Hobbies/Interests: This can provide a useful insight into your personality and also perhaps at interview some nice topics to talk about.

References: ˇ You don't always have to have 'references' actually detailed on your CV, but it may help to have atleast 2 good references complete with their phone numbers. ˇ In some cases (with large companies) providing 2 copies of your CV can help. ˇ Do not bind your CV in a sophisticated folder or binder - just a simple 'staple' will do.! ˇ 3 Pages will do fine - with a necessarily large CV some people provide a 1 Page Résumé or summary of the whole CV and place it at the front of the CV. ˇ Layout (spacing-out lines & paragraphs) and language (good grammar, spelling & articulation) is of vital importance. ˇ Use 'White' paper. ˇ In your letter attached to your CV - ensure to spell names of people and places precisely. Watch out for 'closing dates' or any other special instructions in the advertisement.

Remember - your CV should be continually improved with new relevant information and perhaps better phrasing of some old information. If emailing your CV use a popular format example . .RTF format or Microsoft Word format .DOC. Some organisations will not process CVs saved in anything else other than Microsoft Word format.
